On saturday, we went back to explore the city center of Puebla. It is only a 25mins cab ride away, but filled with so many historical sites <3

Our first stop was the world's smallest volcano, standing at only 13m high. It's located in between Puebla and Cholula, and I believe it'll only take 30mins to cycle from La Leyenda.

We've scaled a volcano!!

Stairway down into the crater

After which, we took the local bus to the city center, with some help from the local policeman. The bus system in Puebla is nothing like Singapore's. The bus has a set route, but because bus stops are frequent, they will stop anywhere as long as there are people flagging and people on the bus presses the bell.

It costs only 6 pesos! That's SGD$0.60

The city center has lots of signboards and stands to help tourists identify where they are, and offline maps help alot too. I've been using Triposo to log down the places I've visited, and Tripadvisor to locate places of interests. Tripadvisor is not always accurate though.

I love the designs around the signboards, there isn't really a need to have such intricate designs, but it's part of the culture here, and it really makes a difference to the aesthetics of the city!

At the city center, we visited a military museum, had lunch and dessert, went passed lots of beautiful buildings and chapels, shopped at fleas, before ending our day at the cinema with "quatro fantastico" (fantastic 4) for just SGD$5.

The military museum is filled with weapons used in Mexico's wars in the past. I guess this is something Singapore will never have, being only 50 years war and only been engaged in WW2. Not that it is a bad thing!

Lunch was at a mexican pork place, styled like an american diner

We were seated at the second floor of the diner and it allowed us to look down on the chef cooking, with the smelled of the roasted pork drifting up to us.

 Cemetas!

After lunch, we passed by a pastry shop that sold lots of cakes, pies and donuts.

We couldn't resist and each got something to try!

The architecture of Puebla is surprises me sometimes. There is no conformity and everything is different, though unstructured. So different from Singapore!

Spotted this carplate along the roadside. Can we have this in singapore too???

This small shopping lane is located right beside the state hall, and reminds me of Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

When youtube videos come to life

There are lots of street markets/fleas in the area and it's so fun looking through the Mexican fleas!

Ended the trip at this chapel/church which shut its door it our face just as we stepped through the gates ):
